Anyone have any suggestions on economical .38 and .357 ammo for a revolver? I would like to stock up on some ammo, mostly for plincking but also in case ammo sees a price increase soon. Thanks!

Winchester white box is among the cheapest- but you should take a look at reloading. You can get a basic set of loading equipment cheaply enough, and relaod your own target ammo for about half the retail prices.

I've looked into reloading but seems expensive to get started. Any suggestions on a starter package?
I was in the same boat as you trying to buy in bulk for plinking. I spent a lot on ammo for .38/.357's and 9mm and 7.62x39 and its expensive. I bought the RCBS rockchucker supreme kit with dies and 100 primers and 100 bullets and a pound of powder for around $400. Even with buying high quality bullets I can reload 50 .357's for less than $11. When I buy in bulk online I usually get 50count boxes for a little over $20. Thats a great deal of savings plus when I get better at reloading I can fine tune a round specifically for my revolver. It will seem like a big investment when you first start and it will take time to get proficient at it. I just last night made my first 50 rounds and it took me almost three hours start to finish. I read all the books on setting up the dies, weighed every powder charge, recorded all the OALs of each round and it takes time. Now I just have to make a few more rounds and learn the ins and outs of reloading.

I talked with some folks, they were at Sportsman's Warehouse today. They checked on reloading supplies for both rifle and pistol - not good!

I was at Walmart, picked up some 30-06 180 gr and .38 Special 130 gr., no .22LR, 9mm or .223 ammo. The guy next to me, picked some Tulo Ammo for 7.62 X 39.

I checking the websites and it is ugly!

I am going to the range; but, the Mr. Frugal will be taking effect. Not like before the election.

I posted on another thread, one store sold 3.5 years worth of ammo in 3 days.
