I am in need of some insight on shipping ammo. Business ventures have led me to ship ammo across the country and I would like to use the easiest medium. Your input is appreciated.
If you're going to do this on a regular basis, and have an EIN or other 'company' ID set up an account with UPS. It's easy, free and will get you the software to print your shipping docs AND save you a ton of money! You CAN ship ammo by UPS GROUND. It does not get into HAZMAT class unless shipment exceeds 66 lbs. Label the box ORM-D, Cartridges, Small Arms (run a google image search using that term, get a printable label) List contents as Cartridges, small arms. Do NOT try to ship by AIR. Will need to ship from a UPS Hub, or arrange a pickup. So called "UPS Stores" are not run by UPS, but are franchises, and most will not accept for shipment. Ammo should be in original packing (or as close to as you can get) and not loose.
