'is a 9mm rd the same as a 9*19 ?
9mm luger or 9x19 is the same.
Thanks I was looking at a glock g31
There are dozens of "9mm" cartridges. The most common is the 9mm Parabellum, also called 9x19 and 9mm Luger.
Please notethat just because it has 9 in the name does NOT mean it will interchange with other cartridges. The .380 (9mm Kurz) the 9mm Makarov, the 9mm Glisenti and 9mm Bayard are all different. Many of those are now obsolete, but understand that a 9 ain't necessarily a 9.
I know ammo is a little scarce right now so what is a good glock?...if know a Glock 17.....sugesstions?
A good Glock in 9mm? That is easy, a P226. Sorry I could not help myself. Depends on what you are going to do with it. Are you familiar with Glocks? Not the weapon for everybody. Those that have problems normally shoot low and to the left. I explain why in another post. Or, brass to the face. I hear the S&W M&P is a better "Glock" from various reports. Cost a about the same. The ammo shortage is not going to last forever, so I would not purchase a specific caliber due to availability. Pick what you are most comfortable with.
The Glock 31 is 357 SIG, not 9mm. The 357 SIG IMO is a superior round to the 9mm and you can in fact shoot 9mm out of it with a barrel and magazine change. there are a number 0f 9mm rounds. The current standard is the 9mm Luger AKA, 9mm 9X19 or 9mm Parabellum. I also shoot 9mm Makarov 9x18. There is also the 9mm Dillon 9x25 and a 9mm Kutz (short) which is really a .380 cartridge. There may be some other variants that my more senior shooters can chime in on.
9MM NATO, 9MM Parabellum, 9X19, 9MM Luger.
And a Glock 17 or 19 if you like Glocks.
The 9MM has been the worldwide standard for police and military for many decades.
GThe Glock 17 is rapidly becoming one of the two police and Military standard handguns worldwide. (Along with the SIG P226)
Thankyou I like the 357 cartridge so ...I believe I am going to go with the glock 31 gen 4
I am going to look at the 357 sig IMO ...Keith
Lol that is funny because my heart beats hard and I shoot a little too the left...lol
