I was in my late 30's when that wallet ring came up in conversation,,,
I always wondered that Mom never caught on to what it was.

Mom said she always knew what it was,,,
But was so happy I carried one she didn't want to jinx it.

I knew a young female records clerk, who was an "ex-marine."

Said that in two tours over in the sandbox she had killed a helluva lot of A-Rabs with her M-1!

Sometimes I watch Cops. The drugs that are found in their pockets, fall out of their shoes, found in a purse or car is never theirs. They just bought the car ten minutes ago. He was wearing his friends pants. The baggie was found in the ground and she just put it in her purse. That didn’t really just fall out of her shoe. It’s so FUNNY!
Wow. Your school ring actually fit in your wallet?:p:confused:

I have 2 gun related bending of the truth/RIPLEY'S BELIEVE IT OR NOT yarns............................1st one relates to a previous job I was in got talking to a bloke who was also a "hunter". We got talking about hunting and subject came up about longest shots etc and he said that he was spotlighting 1 night fox shooting and came across an Emu that was running at full tilt "about 1000yds" away. He was using a 22/250 so he lined up ,gave the Emu a bit of lead and holdover and fired......................dropped it on the spot with a head shot.

2nd Ripley's Believe it or NOT! yarn.......................same job different day another bloke and I start talkin about guns and reloading and he asks me what I have and what I reload for and I tell him and then he comes out with.............." I once got 5000fps out of my .243 with some special powder that I managed to get hold of"................

From memory I think I read somewhere that the US Army was trialing a 30/06(Garand) I think it was to see how hard they could get a round to go and I think they actually got 5000fps but the rifle just couldn't handle it not sure though as it was a long time ago I read this.

just an FYI for you guys.
The Armor Piercing discarding Sabot round out of the 90 MM main gun on the M48 A3 was about 4400 FPS. You could see it if you were in the right position relative to the sun etc.
I seriously doubt the 5000 FPS story. !

A group of old school friends about 15 years ago got together just to BS and catch up. Haven't seen most of them since school. One guy (was about 33 then)mentioned he went to the marines, sniper school and became a green beret. He said he backed off becoming a navy seal... Oh ya I forgot to mention, he was about 5.9" and 350lbs...

Back when I was a Green Beret, they wanted to send me to SEAL school.. but I refused because I would have had to resign from the CIA.:p
