I believe in keeping any oath I have made.
I believe in keeping vows I have made.
I believe that the federal government should be governed by the Constitution.
I believe that states should fix their problems (abortion, gun control, drug abuse) at their level.
I believe that federal laws should be based on the Constitution and Bill of Rights. If there is no direct reference in the Constitution, then the federal government should abandon those laws it has enacted.

Is that wrong or is it confusion on my part to think this way?

The only thing I could add to that is that the states should abide by the constitution as well.

danf-fl - I don't think that you are wrong or confused, I think that there are way more people than you that think the Feds should: legislate morality, give us what we want, fight other people's battles, babysit us and our offspring, feed us, protect us from ourselves, protect us from others, subsidize our commerce, tell us we're special, subsidize our healthcare, limit our choices, .......................................................................................I think you get the idea.

I agree. But like any other organization, there is a Constitution that must be adhered to as well as the By-Laws established at the lower level.

The By-laws cannot rescind any part of the Constitution, but can expand on the articles of the Constitution.
