Alright, So I already ruled out EoTechs, because I've read about the battery cases being a weakpoint, and until I get my astigmatism corrected, the reticle wrecks havoc and all.
I know the two are very different, except for Dot size. I wanted smaller than the 4 moa due to wanting a zero to 300yd rifle. Ironsights are magpul buis.
So do y'all need more infor, or is there enough for a recommendation? Btw one biiiiiig winning point for the PRO is that it'll live so very long:)

Aimpoint. The sparc is great but the aimpoint is better. Mainly because of battery life. No red dot will beat iron sights for accuracy and not all buis are good at precise shooting.

The best rear ive come across in a folding style is the matech. A good round .050 nm front post in most front sights is awesome when combined with a matech rear for buis.

How can you compare the two? If you have the money and are willing to shell it out, always go for the Aimpoint. I don't, though, and that's why a Sparc is on my to-buy list.

So I will have to actually turn mine on before taking out a zombie...big deal.

Welllll you guys do rock:p I think the only reason I was considering the sparc is it was a week less of waiting.

I have the Vortex Sparc and it is good at 50 and ok at 100 yards If want to be on bullseye get a Nikon 223 3-9 x 40mm Scope. 100 to 300 yards easy. That's why I have 2 uppers.

Get the Aimpoint. You'll be glad you did.

A scope will give you more precision, but at the cost of greatly reduced speed.

So you have to decide if you want precision or speed.

(The only way that I've found to get both is the Trijicon ACOG, and it's more than twice the cost of the Aimpoint.)

Acog won't work, despite how much I want it, because I use 2 forms of ammo, hpr 75gr hollows and 60gr softpoints, and the acof is calibrated for ss109.

There really 2 completely different sights . If moneys not a issue aim point all the way. If moneys tight or u got other stuff u would like to add go vortex. They both have great warranties and great customer service

I'm sure the Aimpoint is superior to the Sparc. Is it 2-3X as good (as pricing might imply)? I highly doubt it. That's really all the info you need in my opinion. All further decisions are between you and your wallet. Spending $150-200 vs $400+ is really about your personal needs, preferences, and budget.

I have a couple Vortex red-dots. I have maybe $250 into the pair, both bought new. They're outstanding and I'm confident that they serve my needs at least 90% as well as an Aimpoint would. Maybe someday I'll have an Aimpoint, but for now I'm pretty content with "settling" for Vortex. Regardless, do have flip-up BUIS at the ready on any rifle you intend to depend on for serious inquiries.

Very happy with my Strikefires, and currently in the market for a Sparc.

The aimpoint pro is an awsome sight. I have an eotech as well and i use it for my shotty. The aimpoint battery is said to last 3 years if left in the whole time. And larue makes a very nice cantilever mount

Thanks all.. i have been pulling 60 plus hours a week, first caught up on bills, then picked up an r1... once I get the aimpoint, I start getting more ammo, I'm only up to 300 for the 1911s and about the same for the AR.
