    I just got this 45 colt commander ser#70SC26728
    SATIN FINISH I GOT 450.00 IN it
    I'm wondering what's the age and value

    contact Colt with the SN and they should be able to tell you when it was made.

    or find a compentent gun dealer and have him appraise it and date the pistol.

    be sure to tell him you're looking to appraise it for insurance reasons, not to sell or he may undervalue the pistol. condition is the biggest factor in value.

    The best way to find the true value of a gun is to look at past auctions for guns of the same make & model. Do not consider current asking prices as the value of your gun. Look for the price people actually paid for a gun. YMMV

    There is a Blue Book of guns. But I have never seen that book buy a gun.

    If it's in nice shape you got a deal at that price. I wouldn't sell mine for that.
