Decided to diversify my portfolio this week and picked up a Ruger GP100 6". I wanted a 357 for sometime and this one called me. I added a S&W 625 earlier and love both so far.

Till now all I had was semi autos but these revolvers are great fun to shoot.

Revolvers are beautiful guns, I don't find very many semi autos attractive. You can't beat a 357 revolver, and the gp100 it's a great firearm.

I had wanted the 4" but they had the 6 in stock. I was really surprised at how nice the trigger is - very smooth and light.

I have wanted the 4" version for a while now. I have shot many ruger revolvers and I really like the trigger on them.

I compromised and went with the 5". The GP is a great revolver, you're going to love it!

I'm still not sure about the hogue grip, but I'm not changing them just yet....

I have been lusting after a GP100 for a while now. Did you buy the gun retail? If so, how much are they running on the market now?

I bought my ss 6" retail in November last year for 599. I'm not sure if the newtown shooting has caused much of a change in revolver prices.

That's what I've been worried about. I am prepared to pay $600 for one but with Ruger's MSRP over $700 the prices could be moving up.

I saw a S&W 686+ last week for $759 but held off in hopes of finding a Ruger.

The 625 was my first revolver and I really like it. I believe I paid more than 759.00 in dec 2012.
