I tried a few handguard till I found the one I like best. It is the AB ARMS forward handguard. Made in America also. I have posted photos. It is far superior to some others like Magpul. Magpul has slop/play in the two half's. The AB Arms has locking pins built into the two parts. When installed they lock together and become solid as a rock! The open slots are for adding the size mounting bars of your choice. When I come up with my AR the forearm drops very comfortably into my hand. It is a narrow handguard. It also has great metal shielding inside the guard. You get no heat from the barrel in the grip. See photos
