Got out before dark this morning and the boar comes along all by himself. I hit him with a 100 grain Sierra Game King from the .243.

We waited another half an hour and three sows and their piglets came along. I bagged a sow at about 175 yards and Joe nailed the little piglet in the butt.

Great way to start the weekend.....doing our part to lower the feral hog population in Texas.....and we hope to be whackin' em and stackin' em the rest of the weekend if we can.

I almost (almost) wish we had those things up here. Have a good friend in OK that invited me to come out and get whack some pigs on his land.

Nice job for the morning Lon. And Jpatterson, I feel your pain. 25 degrees and an inch of new snow this morning.

NICE! It is nice to see somebody taking some of them out.

LOL @ the Piggly Wiggly reference; ever seen the Pink Palace built by the originator of the PW?

Ummmm, only the two legged kind. Hogs don't really like high desert, yotes on the other hand.....

Great shooting, Lon! Even that big one will make some delish sausage.

How far from your place did you go?

Only about ten miles. My friend Joe guides on a 500-acre place that is overrun with the damned things. Even more than on this property.
