An economics professor at a local college made a statement that he had never failed a single student before, but had recently failed an entire class.

That class had insisted that Obama's socialism would work and that no one would be poor and no one would be rich, a great equalizer.

The professor then said, "OK, we will have an experiment in this class on Obama's plan".

All grades would be averaged and everyone would receive the same grade so no one would fail and no one would receive an A.

After the first test, the grades were averaged and everyone got a B. The students who studied hard were upset and the students who studied little were happy.

As the second test rolled around, the students who studied little had studied even less and the ones who studied hard decided they wanted a free ride too so they studied little. The second test average was a D! No one was happy.

When the 3rd test rolled around, the average was an F.

The scores never increased as bickering, blame and name-calling all resulted in hard feelings and no one would study for the benefit of anyone else.

All failed, to their great surprise, and the professor told them that socialism would also ultimately fail because when the reward is great, the effort to succeed is great. But when government takes all the reward away, no one will try or want to succeed.

Could it not be any simpler?

    Very true, JD.

When the progressive dems say it is not about individuality, it about being a nation of one, that is what they are saying. BO never hid his ideals of socialism during his campaign, the sheeple just did not understand his rhetoric.

Damn, I think I had that same douche bag teacher in a couple of my college classes. He averaged grades the same way and the results were the same. Great post. :)

Excellent analogy. But it completely overlooks the fact that the people in power, the ones who make and enforce the rules, are not on the same playing field as the masses who have "mediocrity" forced upon them. IMO this is the most dangerous aspect of Socialist governance.

    Here's a good quote:

"The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism, but under the name of liberalism they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program until one day America will be a socialist nation without ever knowing how it happened." Norman Thomas, 1936 presidential candidate on the Socialist ticket

I'm not sure why this is so hard for people to understand. Lazy idiots just want a free ride. Just because you were blessed and born an American doesn't mean you deserve anything. You have the priviledge to try to be successful, doesn't mean it's going to happen.

Socialism is Communism's homosexual little brother.
