For example, do you rescue the most expensive or most unique, difficult to replace? Let's exclude photos, clothes or pets from this gun topic, to make it easier.

Other than the old Savage .22, have a Mini 30, SKS, two MN 44s (very inaccurate) and now a LE "Jungle Carbine".
The Mini was the most expensive and both semis are in excellent condition, but the LE is certainly the most unique and fairly accurate, whereas the two MNs don't begin to compare (at only 50 yards...).

Which type in your group would be saved first, even if they are all insured?

    Oh, a tough question.

I guess it would probably be my LRB M25.

But I do have an awful lot of nice rifles right next to the M25. Are you sure they can't come along, too?

Just out of curiosity how did you acquire the rifle you used in the Army? As far as I know, the military isn't in the habit of selling weapons to soldiers getting discharged.

All of them. Because I am just that good. I would get the appliance dolly and strap it to my safe and with all my might rip the thing out of the house.

    That's the spirit, tango!!

Then you would spend a few weeks in one of those burn beds like the karate kid did in The Outsiders before he died. FIRE!!!

    I really like my dad's Winchester M70. It's a pre-'64 model that's chambered in .270 Win.

The bolt on that thing feels like it's riding on ball bearings.

I'd grab my AR-57. Its the only rifle I own that is in one piece. Plus, my shotgun is insured... and in pieces so I'd more than likely drop part of it on the way out.

Not sure I would be admitting to stealing a Governmet firearm? Wouldn't be the first war this has happened but not too cool to admit it to a relatively public forum.

A what you don't know is that I would have covered myself in fire retardant gel and the safe too. That way I didn't get burned because I am a professional amateur stunt man (See Why me thread).

All of that would be a problem for me. You see, I sweat gasoline and I piss fire because I'm a Man!

(ok, I got that from a Nashville Pu$$y song)

Who's been steppin'? I think I will keep it quiet until she claims that she is pissing fire. Better that way, doh. j/k

Speaking of stepping, do the vids of the N. Korean army remind anyone of any other goose steppin' turds? Those kinds of displays are funny in my mind. They are meant to scare the rest of the world. Some of the soldiers had rifles and some were totally without arms. N. Korea has no idea...
