Agreed.

I have a 5" 9x23 that feels just about perfect in terms of power. I fit a 9mm barrel to it so I could do inexpensive plinking and had to go to a 10lb recoil spring, a 16lb mainspring, and a radically profiled firing pin stop to get the slide to move fully to the rear. Not a lot of oomph in those generic 115gr factory rounds. 125gr 9mm rounds do better but it's just a plinking pistol until I swap in the 9x23 parts.

I just feel like they should downsize the 1911 in 9mm like they do with 380.
Springfield makes the EMP.
