Very nice pistol. As you said it is fantastic looking with the wood grips. But it is all about feel and grip!

Does it have full ramped barrel a.k.a. fully supported chamber?

Guess so - it has a ramped barrel anyway.

I'm a 1911 guy and collect calibers in 1911s. I think I have three in 9mm and what tends to cross my mind anytime I shoot one of them is "seems like a lot of gun for such a small caliber". 40 S&W feels less like that and I love a 1911 in 38 super. Loaded hot they get into 357 mag territory without the need of going to a Coonan or Grizzly or such. 357 Sig also works well. My carry gun is in 10mm though.

I just feel like they should downsize the 1911 in 9mm like they do with 380.

we've got 1911s in .45, 9mm, 380 (and 357mag/Coonan) - a 1911 is simply one heck of a good platform for most any caliber

Agreed.

I have a 5" 9x23 that feels just about perfect in terms of power. I fit a 9mm barrel to it so I could do inexpensive plinking and had to go to a 10lb recoil spring, a 16lb mainspring, and a radically profiled firing pin stop to get the slide to move fully to the rear. Not a lot of oomph in those generic 115gr factory rounds. 125gr 9mm rounds do better but it's just a plinking pistol until I swap in the 9x23 parts.

I just feel like they should downsize the 1911 in 9mm like they do with 380.

Have you seen a Springfield Armory EMP? It's a down-sized 1911, but it's kind of pricey.

I thought they had a law against this lol?

Like @rman43 i had little interest in a 9mm 1911.
Love 38 SUPER and found a fantastic ED BROWN in that chambering. It also had an extra barrel and mag for 9mm. Have never shot that option.
LGS had a nice stainless Springfield Range Officer in 9mm. After several months they gave me a great deal. First 1911 for me that needed to be broken in to become 100% reliable. After Wilson Combat Mags and several hundred rounds it smoothed out wonderfully. Now it's a pleasure to shoot, cheaper to feed, and amazingly accurate.
Still prefer both 38 SUPER and 10mm.
Hope that gorgeous RUGER serves you well.

Just to be clear; I'm not looking for a down sized 9mm 1911. I am not a 9mm kind of guy. I own a few just because I collect calibers in 1911s. It just strikes me that a full size 1911 in 9mm is WAY over kill. The Browning 380 that is 85% size strikes me as being the prefect size for the 9mm caliber. It was just a comment. IF they made one I would probably buy it to have one but I doubt I would ever carry it.
