8mm mauser?

    Hey fellas, there is a guy I know that has a 8mm mauser he wants to sell me. Hes asking 175 for it an bout 250rds of ammo. The gun shoots well ive shot it a few times. what do you guys think is that a good price for it? Thanks

    thanks for the info, honestly I have no idea on the model i could post a pic of it if it will help. I havent really seen any of these for sale were I live so I didnt know if that was high or not.

    I have to always stop on jpattersonnh's avitar for a minute! Huh

    What was I going to say? Yea, if it fires and the stock isn't broken, buy it.

    goin over to meet him tomarrow, if the stock isnt broke and im going to shoot it again, its coming to the house with me

    I'd grab it for that price IMO. I recently worked on a customer's rifle that was built on an 8mm Mauser action, barreled for .257 Roberts. The Mausers are simply worth the price just for the action alone these days.

    A good action is going for more!!. Make sure you clean w/ boiling water after shooting corrosive ammo, then clean normally. If it is military surplus ammo, it is corrosive. I'd almost bet it is a Turk, or the seller really has no clue.

    he said it was, ill look it all over real good tomarrow when I go pick it up, so its an M48?

    looks like a m48...i have one & kick myself in the azz for taking it out of its org. matching stock & putting it in one of those cheezy advance technology stocks,then selling the org.stock:eek:

    keep us posted...

    Well went an got the rifle yesterday, and it is all # matching. Very happy with the purchase:)

    Lets see some pics!! Receiver... Your original pic looked to be a blued bolt, M48's had bolts in white.

    the bolt is not a white color thats for sure, I dont know if its a m48 or not, jus what i was told. If i can get my bros dig cam when i get out of work today ill get some more put up on here
