I am going to start saving up for the Remington 870 express deer slug gun with the Monte Carlo stock and I would like some advice on slugs and accessories for the gun.
I have shot slugs out of my dad's 870 combo before and the recoil from 2 3/4" sabot slugs doesn't bother me. I will still get a good recoil pad for it because I plan to shoot the 3" "shoulder busters". I also would like recommendations for scopes and a sling. Any advice will be appreciated.

Relying on a new 870 Express for hunting is certainly more sporting than using just about any other...

    Good luck.

I plan on getting a fiber optic sight for it and a neoprene shell holder. Would a bipod affect the accuracy in any way?

    how do you adjust them?

Most people say slugs have the most recoil. They're wrong; most slugs have between 35 and 45 pounds of kick out of a 12 gauge, some waterfowl and turkey loads have 48-58 pounds of kick. Felt recoil varies with different people.

A neoprene shell holder on an 870 Express equipped with a bipod would be perfect! Take lotsa pics for us to, ya know, appreciate it.

Can I get some advice for slugs. The recoil from most 2 3/4" slugs doesn't bother me if I'm standing up.

You'll never feel the recoil when shooting at a deer.

    1. Don't shoot kneeling, sitting, leaning against a tree, or prone.

    2. When you say slugs I presume you don't mean sabot rounds. So, for rifled slugs I would recommend a smoothbore shotgun and either a Brenneke or Foster type.

My 870 shows a preference for Brenneke slugs.

i would just use the rifled sights that come with the gun. You are only good out to 100 yards or so.
