I picked up a 870 express mag yesterday to manufacture a SBS out of, the only down side that the barrel has a Vent Rib. This gun has a black light textured finish to it, almost like a powder coat finish. Ive seen the finish on factory new guns so I know came that way. I would like to find a 870 express mag barrel that does not have the vent rib but that will have the same finish at the receiver.

Anyone know if they make a Express barrel without the vent rib and with this light texture black finish?

This pic shows the finish on the barrel:

The Express is parkerized. I have one and I found the extra barrel I wanted on Gunbroker...

The Express is not Parkerized, it is a rough (supposedly bead blasted) blue/black finish. Parkerizing is a grayish green finish and is smooth. Think M1 Garand. Parkerizing is just as expensive as polished bluing. Remington has offered parkerized Models, but the Express isn't one of them.

You looking to get rid of that tomato stake??? ;) What length is it and what choke??? I have a 870 Express Home Security Shotgun that I would like to use for hunting and such and would be interested in obtaining a longer barrel like that if the deal was right. :)
