Is there a sharp point on your firing pin?

I thought someone else would have come along by now. Is this an SKS? Is your firing pin worn? Maybe sticks out of the bolt too far? Just thinking that it is probably your rifle since it is two diferent manufacturers. These are factory loads right?

Top pic, top left looks exactly like a pierced primer. I would say you got an out of spec bolt or firing pin. Looks like too much firing pin protrusion. Maybe broken firing pin. Have you examined the firing pin outside the bolt??

Pics of the bolt face with you pressing the firing pin in by hand would help

+1, what he said ^^^^. Check the bolt face and firing pin. AKs are built for Berdan primers, an out of spec bolt or firing pin could be striking the Boxer primer with too much force.

I just pulled my bolt for comparison. Yours does stick out a little more than mine. But, it is not a lot more.

The click is rather loud when I dry fire. I think the hammer may be hitting the pin a lil to hard.

See my earlier post...an AK and SKS are built for Berdan primers which are harder that the Boxer primer used with Federal or most US made ammo. Any excess protrusion or an excessively hard strike can result in a primer penetration.

Try it with some Comm Bloc mil-surp and see if the problem persists. If the firing pin is good there should not be any primer blow outs.

Have a gunsmith or machinist measure your firing pin protrusion from the bolt face. If it sticks out .050-.065 like my SKS and one of my AKs did, have it trimmd back to .030-.035.
