This is an older, but very interesting video on the power of an AK-47.

Even back then the nra totally missed the point. Truth has no bearing on perception and lies when no one in the media is reporting truth. Neal knox was one of the most ineffective and ignorant nra chairmen. He didn't understand you can not argue rationally with totalatarians and communists who only want to disarm the people.

does anyone offer a bolt action rifle in 7.62x39?

just out of curiousity if better bullets and different powders could offer some advantages over the factory ammo if using a bolt action rifle?

i know you can get a CZ 527 in that caliber & just found out Remington made a 799 in this caliber too. Didn't know that Ruger made one in that, now if I could get a Savage Axis in 7.62x39 I'd jump on it.

edit: Mossberg also makes one with a detachable 10 round magazine

Check with the LGS. They frequently have new guns on the shelf for a year or more.

Those Rugers were only made for a short period of time. I haven't seen one for over ten years. I think there were some others out there by CZ or some other European manufacturers on a short bolt action.

May be able to find a Russian BARS-4-1 in 7.62x39. Izmash manufactured bolt gun offered in 5.45x39, 7.62x39, and 5.56x45.

    Good deal.

It would be interesting to see what kind of accuracy you can get out if a bolt gun with the round. Most folks say 7.62x39 is inaccurate. I blame some if that reputation on the guns it's fired from most, and bargain ammo that isn't held to a high accuracy requirement. But the case is used as a parent for match rounds like 6mm PPC. So, I'm betting you could wring some good groups out with handloads and a bolt gun.
