How do the figures stack up from these two calibres ? To me it seems the 6.5x47 has a smaller volume of powder yet it uses the same bullet so less velocity ? There must also be a maximum bullet weight something less than the SE a disadvantage in a hunting rifle. In theory it should also have less pressure than the SE but on the upside the Lapua fits the short action.
With the SE being so readily available and the only brass for the Lapua being ....Lapua why would anyone buy such an obscure calibre ?
