Turning 50 and financially sound, looking for opinions on 1911's. Wanting a higher end model than my Kimber Custom II.

I've been looking at Sig Scorpion. What do you all think? I know this is a loaded question so be gentle and play nice!

    Thanks

Happy birthday and I haven't seen a sig 1911 I don't like. Black AND stainless has a classy look to me.

I just traded off my last two Kimbers, bought Colts, why pay more to IMHO get anything that would add anything to it's ability to shoot.

My choice would be the Les Baer BOSS 45.

Great report. That gun is definitely top three. I love the looks of it.

    Thanks for the report.

Yep, and shot one ~6 months ago.

It's one sweet 70 series Commander.

Looks like another Colt is added to my bucket list.

Man you know you'd never do that! You'd miss changing all those diapers. Seriously, they get more fun as they get older, I caught mine singing in the shower just a little while ago, "Red solo cup" at six years old and he knows all the words. Very interesting hearing a young kid singing about spilling his beer:)

Touche! Maybe not. Fortunately, Les Baer has not given up on the California market: all of his semi-auto rifles in .223 and .308 are now California compliant. Surprised the heck out of me as I drooled over his web site.

The once great state of California is a mess, and we're looking to get out as soon as we can.:(

Get a Wilson. Then everything else will stay in the safe.

I bought the Colt Wiley Clapp for a Christmas present to myself. It's my EDC.
