As I was reading "What's wrong with .40 cal" thread in the General Handgun Discussion, the caliber 44 Henry was mentioned. I'm curious about this caliber. It's not listed in my reloading manual. Anyone have load data or history of this caliber? I currently shoot 44 Russian, 44 Colt, 44 Special & 44 Mag in my Blackhawk.and I'm looking for a Marlin 444 stainless (saving up for it).

44 Henry is a rimfire round that appeared in about 1860 and has not been made in decades.

Thanks for the info. When I saw 44 Henry mentioned in the 40 S&W thread, I was thinkig "another 44 cartridge to shoot thru my Blackhawk." Wrong.

A single 44 Henry cartridge sells for $30 to $50.
