Sounds like a Taurus or maybe a tangfolio.

As far as brands that is.

Only gun I can find so far.
This thing is loaded with features. Anyone have experience with the Ruger P series? I see the .45 p series is like $600

Just found two options on cheaper than dirt.
    The Taurus PT809
    9mm, 17+1, single/double action, accessory rail, ambi controls, 4" barrel, 30 oz.

    Also the century arms arcus
    9mm, 15+1, single/dbl action, 4.66" barrel, 33.5 oz.
Apparently this is the gun the new Iraqi police we paid for uses.

I really like the looks of it too. But no acc rail, 6 oz heavier than p90, I like the longer barrel

    That tang doesn't look comfortable.

You can get a Cz85 for around 350...heard nothing but good things about them, this is probably my next pistol buy.

Looks nice. Im seeing substantially higher prices than $350 for a new cz85. Also no accessory rail.

Check out the Stoeger Cougar, they offer it in .45, 9mm and I think .357 s&w. Very nice pistol, very good value.

CZ P07 Duty. They can be had at Academy for about $400 , great pistol, be sure to buy a 9mm as stated, they have had some issues with the 40's.

I have a P95 9mm and it is AWESOME with flawless functioning at 1,000 rounds so far!

Have fun, good luck, and keep us posted here!

I'd agree the IFG/EAA/Tanfoglio Witness would be an excellent choice. They're offered in many different configurations to fit anyone's needs. 17+1 cap, poly or steel frame, amby safety offered directly from the eaacorp website for like $35 bucks.

You can opt for the carry version in 3.6" barrel, or 4.5" full size version. While some shops I have checked have these just under SRP at $500+, you can grab one from Gunbroker.com or Budsgunshop.com right now for $300 shipped to FFL. Then you're looking at another $40-60 depending on your area for transfer. This will put you under your budget and from personal experience I can assure you will be getting the best bang for your buck. Also keep in mind you can purchase complete slides in 10mm, 45 auto, 40 S&W, 9mm, 38 super (if you're lucky to find one), and 22LR for $215-250. It is essentially a CZ75 clone from the modern day.
