I am really wanting to build a BBBR (Big BoreBlack Rifle). I have been bouncing around the merits of the 458 SOCOM and the 450 Bushmaster. I have lots of experience with the 45/70 GOVT and the 458 SOCOM looks to be the modern equivilant. The 450 Bushmaster is however more prevalent.

There is a third cartridge I have been looking at. The 375 SOCOM. This cartridge looks to be the modern equivilant of the 375 Winchester, which I always wanted one of but never got. For hunting in my area I felt it would be almost ideal for 75% of big game, meaning deer, pigs, and possibly bear.

Just wanted everyone's opinion. I really don't want the 450, but convience means a lot, all the local gun shops here generally have a box or two. The 375 and 458 will mostly be a handloading proposition, but I like handloading as much ascshooting so not really a problem. I am just wondering if the 375 might be the better cartridge?

Your thoughts?
Man I LOVE IT! I like the slightly less "in your face" caliber and yes, it will still take out anything walking around North America!
