I was thinking of reloading some 38 Specials / 357 Magnums using Bullseye powder and 125gr lead, round nose bullets. Has anyone tried this combination? How was it for you, as a plinking round? My Speer #11 manual says 4.4-5.1 grains (soft point or hollow point) for 38 Special and 7.8-8.3 grains for 357s with the same bullets. Hornady third edition says 4.1-4.6 grains for hollow point 38s, and nothing in this bullet weight for 357s. Last, my Lyman 45th edition has nothing in this bullet weight for either caliber. Not helpful. Here's what I found on Alliant's website: http://www.alliantpowder.com/reload...owderlist.aspx&type=1&powderid=1&cartridge=27 I was thinking of starting around 4.5 grains. That's on the hi end according to Hornady (published in 1980) and the low end for Speer (published in 1987). Thoughts? Have you guys discovered recipes which work better?
