+1 on the RRA option. Although to be fair I have never shot their .308. I like their AR-15, they offer quality for a good price. They have a very good set of options to choose from as well for the 308.

M14 original with the selective fire mode, full auto or semi. Full auto is uncontrollable throw a bipod and a red dot and your good.

check out the Bushmaster rifles. they carry a couple of 308s in the ar type rifles. not cheap, but well made rifles. have not shot or owned one in 308, but have a m4a2 in 5.56, sweet shooting rifle, very well made. i have been very pleased with it's performance so far.

Since Eugene originally designed the AR10 for 7.62/308 when he was at Armalite, that seems a reasonable choice. Sure it isn't the same company as it was back in the late 50's but what company is. I have one of their AR10's and it is stupid accurate for a 16" barrel .308. Never had a single problem with their 20 round mags and this rifle loves 110gr Hornady TAP ammo. And that is a great round for anti-personel use or just general all round shooting. I use heavier stuff for hogs but pretty much any round out of an AR10 will drop a hog.

FWIW, I love RRA and LMT rifles also and wouldn't turn down an LMT if I needed another AR10 and money wasn't an issue. I have a 5.56 LMT and it is a fantastic AR. I want my AR's to be fully functional after being dropped in the mud, picked up, and put into the fight. I trust Armalite, LMT and RRA for that. Not so with some of the matchgrade AR's.

Offhand, I'd have to agree with the AR-10...

    AR-10 / SASS / SR-25 style rifle.
I'm looking at a POF P-308 right now.
But, getting on the 18 week waiting list is a serious commitment.

If I could, I would buy the SCAR-17 right now.
The problem is, it's not available in CA.
(have to fix the stock and add the bullet button).
FN won't do this. (I don't blame them)
