Anybody have one? I am getting rid of my .308 because it is boring because everybody has one. I posted before about liking the more obscure cartridges, so I am going to replace my .308 with a .300 Savage. I am not worried about finding ammo as I am a reloader anyway. The .300 Savage comes very close to the .308 performance wise and brass is easy to make out of .30-06 or .308 brass. There are a number of older bolt actions available in 300 Savage and the M99, though pricey, is also available.

And one guy on the M&P rifle forum should have one of M&P rifle up and running in 300 savage by now. How about a handgun. http://www.competitor-pistol.com/ I have a lone eagle version a life time ago. Cool long range handgun or match gun. One of these should make for a obscure handgun at any range.

I think you are right hardluk1. I am not a handgun guy, though I don't have anything against them, I just prefer rifles. But, I am glad to see the .300 Savage still alive in any form.
