I’d like to know how is the recoil compared to a 9mm or 38special. How do you like the gun overall and do you have problems finding ammo
I like many who have tried it feel the recoil is very similar to 9mm in a similar type of firearm.

It's a slimmer cartridge then 9mm allowing more carry complicity, but from what I've read it's ballistics are less then 9mm but greater then .380. I have not tested this yet, but I mean to, along with testing versus 9mm Makarov.

Being a longer then 9mm meaning the grips were longer on the fore end too, but I found it to be around that of a 5.7 pistol.

Ammo can be hard to find for plinking, but there are two shops within 15 minutes of me that both carry it. Hollow point and defense ammo are more abundant. Keep in mind that there is tighter regulations on who can make what and variants allowed with new ammo types then older ones who's patient rights have expired. Also price is heavily controlled right now.

As far as the M&P Shield Plus, I both like and loath it. It feels good. It shoots good. The tritium sights are easily visible. Front serrations could stand to be more predominate, especially considering the slide is cut for a micro red dot, though I am one of those people that can rack a slide without any serrations so long as it is dry. Little trigger take-up, clean break, obvious reset, not too heavy not too light.

What I don't like is the grip. The texture is fine, it feels fine, but for whatever reason I, along with everyone else, tends to shoot low and left with it. It is the only gun I shoot left with. All others are right on the money. I even tried adjusting the sights but it still goes left. Had my brother try different ways of gripping and he was able to finally get it satisfactory on target. I have some theories, but I'm just not invested in it enough at the time to further test them. So as of now, I'll blame the grips.

It is also important to point out that there is a gap between the grip and magazine, and considering the magazine is part of the grip, I can see where this could be a pinch point of some. Lucky for my, this gap sits right between my ring finger and pinky, who only has about 80% real-estate on the grip.

For me, I'll stick with the 9mm and my P365 SAS.

I looked at them, but I wondered if a 9mm would do just as well with common ammo.

I don't have a 30 Super but have read several articles about them and think they will be a good gun, but not for me. I have a few 9 mm semis and feel they will do anything a 30 Super can. The biggest difference for me is the cost and availability of ammo. There is enough souped up 9s to meet any need I might have, and the availability is better.

This is my unsolicited opinion and I thank you for allowing me to share it.
Steve.
