I have a winchester model 94 in 30 30. Other than marlins and henrys, who else makes rifles in 30 30? Is there a bolt action?

Rossi or Taurus have a lever action in 30-30 and i believe the company Puma at one time offered a lever action in 30-30. i don't think anyone makes one currently in a bolt action at this time, but savage had a bolt action rifle chambered in a 30-30 called a Model 340 i believe.

Savage made the model 340 bolt action in .30-30 and Remington made the model 788 bolt action in .30-30. You can still find one on the used gun market from time to time. Check out the gun auction sites such as gunbroker.com.

Thanks guys. I've really become partial to my 94. It was given to me by my grandfather. I'm comfortable with the round and would like something different from the 94 in 30 30. I'm gonna check out the savage.

Savage also made a 30-30 over a 12 gauge in the 24 series. Thompson Center chambers their single shot pistols in 30-30.

So far nobody has mentioned one of the finest bolt actions built in 30 WCF. The Winchester model 54. Though the design has been improved, the quality cant be questioned.

It's sort of ironic. The 30-30 is a great round and a bolt action really gets the most out of it. Add a scope along with the accuracy of a bolt action, the extra velocity of a longer barrel, and more aerodynamic bullets and you have a deer slayer that will put deer down out to 300 yards. A 30-30 is normally thought of as only a 100 yard brush caliber, but it isn't the bullet that's limited to 100 yards. The lever action rifles are what limit a 30-30 to 100 yards (mostly iron sights, shorter barrels, not quite as accurate as a bolt, and round nose bullets because of the tube). At the same time those iron sight lever actions ensure that the 30-30 will be around for a long time to come. I love lever actions but it's a shame there aren't more bolt actions available in 30-30.:)

My Win 94, 20" barrel, sporting the Williams FP, using FTX bullets, "will put deer down out to 300 yards." If I want to go 375 yards, I'll add a scope.

No, the lever action is not what limits the round. My lever action is just as accurate as my bolt guns. I have shot 3 lever actions other than mine; all of them were sub-moa accurate... 2 of them sport iron sights.

I regularly shoot 150gr FMJ and SST bullets in my Win 94, you simply load directly into the chamber. I don't know about you, but I only need one shot.

Savage will still build you a bolt-action rifle in .30-30 Winchester................
