hey everyone, id thought i would share my results of shooting 1/2" and 1/4" peices of steel.

    Mossberg ATR 100 30-06
    Winchester Super X 180 gr
    50 yards

(sorry if the pics are big)

the 1/2" is on the left

Here we put the 1/2" on top of the 1/4" peice and tried to shoot through both, it only went through the 1/2" but still left a good ding in the 1/4"

i was really suprised that it went through the 1/2" i didn't think it was that strong!

    Cool pics.

The results vary depending on the steel used. I have some rolled laminated steel plates about 1/2" thick and a .50BMG rd at 100 does not go through.

I'm kind of timid to do something like that.
Reminds me of the vid where the guy is shooting a .50 at plate steel and the bullet ricochets and bout takes his head off.

In case anyone hasn't seen it.
