Well guys I made a thread on here months ago about the possibility of 3-d printed guns which at the time where plastic one shot .22lr. Now as 3-d printing has grown and the industry has developed and learned to use new materials, steel can now be used along with silver, glass, plastic and pretty much any material now can printed with. here's the link- http://www.cnn.com/2013/11/08/tech/innovation/3d-printed-metal-gun/index.html
Notice how the news anchor calls the m1911 a m-1-9-1-1 pistol, these guys don't even know how to correctly say the name of one of the most recognizable handguns in history.

The 1-9-1-1 thing sounded pretty dumb for sure, Jakes a tool for sure, just not as useful a tool as a 3d printer! Leave it to CNN to forget to mention the usefulness of being able to print more than bobble-heads and Mk19's. This was the perfect opportunity to point out that making stupid laws to protect ourselves from ourselves hasnt worked and wont work as our future technology unfolds. The Jetsons are here and we cant stop it from happening, nor should we try, its amazing not scary!

Sadly, they must think that Americans have forgotten the recipe for Ice or how to run a Vertical and horizontal Mill/ lathe. Otherwise we wouldnt be seeing this a new and present danger cause we know that any "slightly educated" machinist worth their salt can make a Lethal Gun in their little machine shop with less than $1500 in tools in a very short time without a printer that cost $500K.

I think it's more about productivity then skill.
