257 weatherby to 338 winchester mag

    Can you really neck up in size 257 weatherby mag case to 338 winchester magnum and safely shoot it the belts a tinny bit shorter but you use the case shoulder for head space size right

    Your right should say 257 on tittle but now wont let me edit it

    Yes, They are both built on the H&H belted mag. case !........ie; The .375 H&H Magnum Case............

    I fixed the title for you. The problem with that much of a "neck up" is you will end up with thin necks. Case life will be greatly shortened. Remember, when you neck up, you lose length

    Yes i wondered about the neck i have a 257 weatherby and compared the loaded cartridges and except for bullet size they are very close thank you for the replies i will seek proper 338 cases for loading
