So I found a box of 250-3000 savage high power in the back of an old gun cabinet today and I've never seen them before I was just wondering if anyone knew anything about them.

If it is a full box, you could get $40 to $50 for them on gunbroker. What else do you want to know? They are for a rifle chambered for .250 Savage ammo, they are .25 caliber and will shoot that 87 grain bullet at approximately 3000 fps.

This cartridge was originally developed for the Savage 99, one of my favorite rifles.

The 250-3000, the original quarter bore, developed in the 19 teens by Savage I think. I mean you had the .25-20 & the .25-35 but them were rimmed cartridges, this was one of if not the hottest of the rimless cartridges of the time. Now a days they are just known as the .250 Savage & you can find em some times for around 40 bucks, to collectors you might be able to sell them for 4 or 5 buck a piece, as a matter of fact I will give you 5 bucks for one of em, if you want to break up the box, you might even get 10 or 15 dollars just for the empty box to a collector, looks like its in good shape................

    Let me know.

It's a full box and thanks for the info guys but I have a small collection of old cartridges myself so I think I'll keep it.
