Looking to change up my coyote gun from my AR since I'm setting that up for hogs and wanting a longer range gun anyways

I think your AR is better suited for coyotes and a .25-06 for hogs. Why not just buy a 6.8 upper? Change out uppers for anything from P-dogs to Whitetail or pigs.

I've never shot a 25-06, but I have shot some 22-250 and I think they are a great coyote gun. It's on my short list for guns. I've heard a lot of good stuff about a 25-06 too though.

I enjoy my 25-06. The problem is when I shoot it at the range, people complain about "feeling" the percussion at the far end of the stand.

25/06 all day long over the 22-250.
The 22-250 is a great varmint round, but most of them lack the barrel twist to shoot bullets heavier than 60gr.
The 25/06 will shoot from 75gr - 120gr bullets, and will work on p'dogs or on up to elk.
The only negative for the 25/06 is unless you shoot a heavy barreled rifle,it will get hot very fast.My heavy barreled Savage heats up pretty good after 4-5 shots, most sporter barreled rifles will heat up in 2-3 shots.

So you think the 25-06 would be good for deer and still be a clean kill with proper shot placement?

absolutely, the 25-06 with the right ammo is an excellent deer caliber and the recoil is very mild, even in lighter weight rifles. loaded with lightweight bullets, is even a very effective varmint caliber too. get one and you will most assuredly enjoy it.

.25-06. Mine will shoot way better than I am capable of. Yotes at 400? Very doable. The 120 grain bullets buck the wind better than anything the 250 can use. Perfect for deer.

Don't quote me on this, but I believe that the Vanguarrd actually uses a Howa action, so in that regard, they will be quite similar. Others on this site will have more knowledge as far as which one has the better barrel and stock.

It's the other way around actually, the howa has the vanguard action in it which I love. I just don't know how much better the howa is in other categories compared to the vanguard

Nice rifle,What is the twist rate of the barrel?
A 1-10 twist will shoot just about anything from 75gr-120gr.
