Yea.... I don't even know what to say. It's been an amazing ride from the first talk of Assault weapons bans to now. "You shoulda been prepared " " I can sell it for what I want" Seem to be the meme in the gun "community " . I just read some douchebag found a website with 15k rds and bought it all up. " I hope it's enough to ride out the shortage " . The shortage is because of scumbags like him.

.22LR wasn't even on anyone's hitlist. Apart from the clown politician that said " a .22LR rd can take out a power station " I didn't even hear anything about it. DHS certainly wasn't buying it . Whats the deal ? People scalping .22 1000 rds for 275.00  TWO HUNDRED AND SEVENTY FIVE DOLLARS FOR 1000 RDS!?@?!

Supply and demand argument is crap. People are buying it all up to scalp it. Some other guy trying to sell 9 bulk packs for 550 thats a 160.00 worth of ammo . 390.00 markup?

Sorry , just venting. But Im buying no more ammo till this is over. Im not puttin a penny in the scalper pockets.

Kudos to all who are helping each other out by selling it for what its worth or maybe a couple extra bucks.

I wont buy ammo from anyone unless its what it cost them. before the shortage, 2nd hand ammo, new or not went for about 75% of cost. Now its 200% at least? Makes no sense.

I live in a small town, and support small business. I buy it when it comes through and dont buy it when it doesnt. The difference is that I shoot still though, I am hardly stockpiling like some of these ass holes out there. I always buy a little more than I need but that is only because I cant readily go to the store to buy it when I want to go shoot.

Its coming back slowly though. I am seeing more of everything except for the .22 though, which is unfortunate.

I will say though, since the shortage I have shot my ar-15s way more than I ever have before. 5.56 is 100x easier to get than .22! And I have been doing way more shotgunning than before, too. That stuff is everywhere though.

IT is really sad what is taking place with folks hoarding ammo. I wouldn't consider myself "hoarding." when I have under 1500 rds. of each caliber i shoot. When it was $80 for a brick of 500 .22LR's I wasn't touching it. I simply shot what I(we) wanted to and tried to save a bit. When My WIfe(since some object to me using the letters "DW" to identify her) bought a "New Used" Browning Buckmark 6" .22 from the Same LGS suddenly the 333's were there for $38 + tax....still not the best price but closer to normal. He allowed us to buy 2(1 each) and said "If I have em after May 31's your welcomed to buy 2 more, but in the big boxes it's 1 per buyer per month" he had loose boxes of 50 of other brands running for $5 for russian made up to $7 & $8 a box of 50. he was "nice" enough to give my wife a box of the russian because she bough the Gun...and because I bought 2 more boxes of the Am. Eagle at $8 each he gave me the 2 for 15(100 rounds). The Other LGS has the Western's 5 50 ct. boxes for $33.99....

I notice Brownell's has many many listings for .22LR/.22Mag. as well as Handgun ammo, but lot's of out of stock and back ordered. What I have stored I have no plans to "Sell" at a 300% mark up! I'm not a shyt-head. My friends and those who live nr. me know I will help them in a time of crisis. One friend is Ret. like me and his wife is disabled, so I gave him 150 .22Lr's for his Marlin Lever action, and 10 Remington Golden Sabers for his .38 if he needs to make his way here if SHTF(we prefer to say "defication hits the Oscilation" or "Sierra Hotel Tango Foxtrot")

My other friend just came home from Iraq last yr., while he is not working and a full time college student, he sold off 50% of his guns to have a little extra in the bank, so I did him a solid since I don't shoot .45's anymore because of my back & shoulders being bad, I only save what I need, so he got 300 Rds of FMJ for his supplies, plus 50 Hp's for SD/HD & 100 for him to come shooting with us this weekend. He was a Spec. 5(Sgt. Specialist for those who do not know service Ranks) as a Crew Ch. & Gunner/ Loader on an MH-60 & i'm an Ex-60 Pilot among other things my uncle asked me to do...so I guess thats why the kid wants to trim my trees and shrubs for me.....

If i could give 100 rds. of whatever ammo someone needed i'd be a philanthropist! Maybe Beastmode and his dad should use 500 rds. of that .22LR to train a few of his friends...I just sold 2 Pump Shotguns(both 870's, a 12 & a 20) to friends(at normal cost i might add)and included 100 asst. rds. for each of them...I encourage everyone to do a good deed and set an example....

Why is it the grasshoppers always call out the ants for 'hoarding'? Some of us prepared way before winter hit, why didn't you??? Who is dumb enough to think the 2nd most liberal voting senator back in his day and who is now sitting president wouldn't cause a 2nd amendment crisis?

One of my 22 stashes I proudly posses :D

When all this started..I had 170 rounds of .22 . At the time I thither that was more than enough...but now that I am shooting ALOT more...i had to search fire more. I currently have about 600 rds. And am using them sparingly until prices go back down.

Cause .22 are plinking ammo and never that again wasnt on anyones list . This was a citizen created crisis . Not any politician . Other calibers ? was up in the air. .22LR absolutely no reason for what has happened attributed to gun grabbing.

Actually it was a political crisis, not a citizen crisis, as several states fell into the event and started to take away magazine capacities, banning auto weapons, etc, etc.
Anyone who shoots who knows better starting to save their good stuff for the 'revolution', and still wanting to keep their trigger finger happy pulled out the 22's in the back of the safe to keep doing what we like to do. Shoot!

If the politicians gave up any kind of talk about any laws concerning guns, the crisis would come to an end. Until then the 22lrs will be more expensive than they should be. :D

I've used the exact same analogy. Since before Dr O.'s first ride and said then ammo is cheap you better get to putting some back. And I was told it's just stupid to keep more than (insert small number here)

Tell me why it's smart to save for retirement but it's not smart to put some ammo back?

I'll say it again..This crap will pass and every one of you best get to putting some rounds back. Hell, a box here and there is no big deal. Take the leftovers of a range box and put them in an ammo can. Damn things are cheap and they are made to hold ammo!

I have not changed my shooting one bit over the last 5 years and have yet to not have what I wanted when I wanted it. Because like a good ant I saved for winter. I have a bunch of 550 round boxes I paid all of 15 bucks for still on my ammo shelf. Any I burn a BUNCH of 22 ammo when I get a hankerin' to feed my rimfire addiction.

It's going to calm down..just like the last time and the time before. Prices wont bvew at befgore lunicy levels but they wont be over 100 bucks for a brick of bulk. GO BUY SOME AND STOP WHINING!!! THen when the scalpers come lookiong to make a bunch of money tellthme you'll be there to pick up some after the price drops..AGAIN.

How many people you think own a box of 100.00 bulk right now? Maybe as many as own 2500.00 ARs that sell for 750 now?

You plan ahead for so many other things in your life. If shooting is your hobby/addiction then think ahead. Be an ant...And you'll be ready when the grasshoppers are spending their 401K on a box of ammo.

No citizen related crisis !!! does your .22LR shoot hi cap magazines? Does it shoot .22LR semi auto bolts?? Are you going to fight a " revolution " with your .22LR ? No to all 3. Theres no reason for what happened to the round itself.

Good news I just found a lone box of eley club match .22LR 50rds bad news is it was 18 bucks.

    I suggest you re-read my post. ;)

You think the citizens all of a sudden just decided to buy up everything on a whim? lol

Yes yes I do. There was never any talk about banning the round itself so there should have been no panic buying. magazines , auto bolts have ABSOLUTELY ZERO to do with the round itself.
