I'm just going to be using it with the iron sights that's why I like the top eject. If I was going to mount a scope then I would stick with the side eject. I'm not even sure if anyone makes a top eject. I haven't found one yet. Just bigger cartridges. Also does anyone know if anyone makes one that has the "trap door" for loading the magazine? They all seem to have a tubular mag that loads from the front. Maybe I'm asking too much but if it is or was made I'm sure someone on here will know about it.66,
I know they do not eject on the top but the older Marlin 39-A Rifles are a good quality fine weapon. The newer ones I would use caution on. In fact I do not think I would buy one that was made after 1995.
They are available out there for a reasonable price around $350 or so. The Henry's are good rifles and also made in the USA. As far as top ejection I do not know. Scope mounts are easier to mount and find for the Marlin and others that have the side ejection port.
Yes I am looking for something to pass down to my kids eventually in 60 or so years lol I'm still on the young side. But I do want to take it out and have some fun. What is the use in having a gun and not using it? I don't keep safe queens except for my barrett just because I have nowhere to shoot it now.66,
If you are looking for one to keep and put in your collection or pass along to next of kin. They are not as inexpensive as a new 22 lever because they are getting to be collectors pieces. But Google Winchester 9422. I saw some listed from $400 and up. They are older rifles and not a whole lot of them out there. But they are top ejectors just like the 94 30-30s.
