I generally buy in bulk, but recently have noticed much on AMMO SEEK is listed as "bolt action only" when did this begin? I've been dipping into my supply and am looking to replenish it but I've never seen this warning before! What's up?

Basically means it is too low powered to make a blow back action function properly. Small wt bullets contribute to this also.
I highly suspect that the "specialized powder" normally used may be getting a bit low on availability to the mfr.
Not certain.

There are a few loads like the CCI velocitur that are pretty hot, some use a stronger recoil spring in semi autos to keep the bolt from slamming back too hard. Other loads are underpowered, like OOL said. Get familiar with the weights and velocities of the .22lr cartridge.

I have found Federal Range Pack (40 grain lead @ 1200fps) ammo to be consistent and reliable in all my .22’s. My CZ 455 shoots MOA with it. All my semis, bolts and revolvers like it. I have heard some negative feedback from some folks using it, but my results have been pretty good for loose pack ammo like it is. There is for sure better ammo, but it costs more.

I had some 22lr that was single shot and revolver only. It was that bad. On the serious side, what is the advertised velocity?

The supply I've been using on my tree rat overpopulation is Western .36 grn. hp, and it's served me well! My next round is going to be CCI mini mag 36 gr. hp, and they have worked well for me as well. After that, I will be shooting Aguila 40 gr. Rn about 1000 rounds. I don't mix the ammo because the point of impact change is dramatic at 50 yards.
Thank you all for your input I do appreciate it!
PS, OO, thanks for setting me straight on this.
