I have found that my local classifieds is a great option. In the Northwest we have a website specifically for firearms classifieds. Many areas have such a thing. I am able to get a face-to-face sale of almost anything I need. I may need to pay somewhat inflated prices, but if you need it NOW, then you are by definition beholden to market prices.

I understand what you mean. I have been able to find some locally. If you do find some online..buy and check out immediately. I lost a brick between cart and checkout this week. I wish I could offer more advice :(

Midway USA seems to be getting fairly regularly. I have 1000 rounds that I ordered yesterday. Same price before all the excitement started. You need to watch and get your email on thier notify list and be ready to order fast. good luck

Please check out our "in stock" thread. There you can find from fellow users where ammo is available.

I went to my local Dicks sporting goods store this morning to be there when the doors opened. Even though I arrived 10 minutes before their advertised opening time, the store manager, allegedly for no special reason, decided to open the store early. So early that when I got there, all the 22 long rifle had been sold before the store was officially open.

In the 75 buck thread, at the end, I provide a list of online vendors to watch like a hawk.

I've easily picked up 7000 rounds in the last 6 weeks.

At Calguns, we have an Ammo Finds thread in the Rimfire forum. Today for example, MidwayUSA was alerted for 4 different varieties of Aquila.

Aquila is excellent in terms of quality versus price.

Put these in your active bookmarks list:

Watch 'em like a hawk. On Sunday nights, don't turn off the computer. Check 'em all before you go to sleep on Sunday nights...wake up early in the morning (5am PST for example) and monitor. Very often by 10am-11am ammo will suddenly pop-up.

Palmetto State Armory. You gotta catch 'em right away. If you show up 10-15 minutes later after an item post - site will already be hammered - your "cart" will cycle or after awhile come back as "item not available." They have the best deals on CCI and great shipping prices.

gunbot.net relies on static dated entries...what you typically see is already expired at the linked sites.

ammoseek.net is script driven...but all it really does now is verify what you already know now when watching multiple sites.

    Cheap stuff unavailable
    Expensive stuff available
Shotshell stuff sitting lonely and neglected

I've hit PSA a few times and gotten 1000 rounds each time. I got about 750 locally in the last two weeks just knowing the guys in the shops and getting them to hold a little back for me. But the prices locally have gotten stupid. I saw old CCI (the old golden plastic 100 round box) for $17 the other day. I'm not paying that. But it is worse on armslist.....people there wanting from .25-.50 each.......I will never go that far.

Just keep looking. I bought 2 bricks for $23 apiece online. You just have to be patient, wait on the good deals, and don't feed the gougers

Jumpmaster, I feel your pain. Like many here who never suspected that a panic-buy would effect the smaller calibers, I didn't stockpile .22 lr. And my two teenage shooters are real good at burning it up...good luck in your quest.

There was a 15 minute window this morning @SGAmmo for CCI Mini-Mags HP 100ct for 17.95. Sure that's expensive, but you could have at least picked up 2-4 boxes just for the short term and then wait it out in the hope that things would cool over summer.

If you didn't grab any, you only have yourself to blame.

    =

I have 13 windows open to vendors as I write...
