Don Larsen, forever famous for pitching the only perfect game in World Series history, died Wednesday at age 90.

One of baseball's more iconic pictures. Autographed by Don Larsen and his catcher that day, Yogi Berra.

I remember that feat back when I was a kid pitching on a little league baseball team in NC. I always had dreams that I’d be a world famous mound monkey...

    RIP Don Larson

    Georges Duboeuf, 86
You don't have to be an oenophile to have sampled a product of the man who was probably the greatest negociant of modern french wines.
M Duboeuf elevated what was an ordinary local wine, Beaujolais nouveau, into a international phenomenon.
If you drink wine, you've most likely had something he either produced, blended, sold, or exported.

77 Sunset Strip was the beginning of "cool" on TV. It was the first show to show modern men's & women's clothes, ending all that baggy trousers crud from the 40s & 50s. Also the first show with hip language.
Plus he drove a *****in' 23 Ford T bucket.

Eccentricities aside, the man was going to be a first ballot inductee into Springfield. Still is.. but sadly posthumous.

Oh dear. I've mentioned 2 liberal tv shows. It wasn't a political statement, just entertainment history!
