    Hello,

Trying to find out some info on the follow:
Approx. 1929 Ranger, Double Barrel, Double Trigger, 12 Gauge

My grandfather bought this at age 20 in 1929, (Dad thinks from Sears) and handed it down to my dad at some point.
My dad just was going through some guns he had ever since I told him I just got a new Glock.
Anyway, I have not been able to find anything about Ranger and wanted to see if anyone knows.

Any good related info would be great.

This is about all I found so far:

The Ranger name was used by Sears Roebuck in the 1940's and 50's.
103.x was marked on their firearms made by Marlin Firearms, Sears used the Ranger name prior to WWII on the gun that Marlin sold as the Model 90 o/u shotgun starting in 1937. After WWII Sears used the JC Higgins name on the gun.

I believe that Winchester was the last company to use the "Ranger" name.

I have the same gun. Double barrel 12 gage with Ranger on the side. Mine was also my Grandfathers and we believe purchased new from Sears just not sure when. Mine is loose in the hinge and I guess hasn't been shot in about 20 plus years. Beautiful old gun though! Thinking about cleaning it up and taking out with my son for a few shots!

Yeah that is great. My dad had his cleaned & serviced real good and it looks so nice he doesn't want to give it to me anymore. :)
