Yes you can, but remember that the jump from .380, .22, or 9mm to .45ACP, if that's what you're looking for, is a big one. Good luck with your search.

Take a look at a Springfield Mil Spec in stainless. You may be able to find a stainless Colt for your price as well.

i appreciate the concern, but i grew up on the 1911 man.
been shooting my uncles various models for about 10 years now.

not too interested in the rock island version at all...

and i looked at that springfield, and i love it!

    thanks guys

What is wrong with the Rock Island? You can anodize the Hammer, Trigger, grip safety and Safety Then Change the grips to these Sweet Gold ones. gold grips.jpg
    Now, we are talking.

Yup, this is absolutely, positively the most important attribute of a 1911...

you have posted several negative things about me, and you obviously either dont like me, or you dont like what i post, or both. my only advice to you is dont read my threads. my threads have the most action and posts than any thread in the hand gun forums lol...

    apparently someone cares :)

not to mention the private messages i get EVERY DAY from people telling me that they "love my input" and to keep it up an "withstand the bullying."

on a lighter and more exciting note!

i totally just bought a taurus 1911 completely "blinged" out like some of you say, and i couldnt be happier!

    hate on it ;)
