Hello everyone. First thread on the forum so please go easy on me. I bought a 1903 hammerless from my father about a month ago and figured that I would strip it and try to clean as much as I can without taking the entire thing apart since I didn't want to have something pop out on me. While doing this I apparently made the fatal mistake of pressing the disconnector without the hammer in to try to loosen it up. Now, the hammer really doesn't want to go in and when I figured out to trick to reassembling it, (hold down the trigger and grip safety and slide the hammer in) the hammer will stay in the cocked position. If I pull a little harder than normal, the gun will click but the hammer will not dropped. Bonus is that the gun was made sometime around in 1904-1908 and it's so rusted that the pins won't even come out.
