Heading to the range this weekend and gonna take the mini 14. It's a 182 series with a barrel length cut to 16 inches. I have a stock of 55gr ammo (shared with a Bushy AR). Being that the barrel is a 1 in 10 twist, and cut down, I was considering getting lighter rounds like 40 gr or 50 gr. I'm looking for accuracy to 100yds max. Not using a scope, just a FastFire red dot. Should I even bother going lighter or run what I have? Will there be a noticeable difference? So far I've had no issues with the 55gr ammo. I am able to Skeet clays on the bank at 100yd.... plenty accurate for me. Just looking for a few thoughts.

    Thanks, Drew

It's a Mini, it'll run on darn near anything. Shoot the 55's.

Your 55grainers will work just fine in a 1 in 10 twist barrel.

Yep, my 183-series likes the lighter bullets up to 62 grains. 55's are ideal.
