Stability has little to do with weight, it has much more to do with ballistic coeficient and sectional density (related). The .17 Rem is stable at almost 4000 fps

I could see this being used on rabbits at range.

Most all of my shooting is at prairie dogs. I like using low recoil low muzzle blast rifles so the new RF Winchester 17 round looks good to me. I have centerfire 17, 204, and 22 caliber and 17 and 22 RF varmint rifles but some days dont feel like reloading 2 to 300 center fire rounds for shooting them. I live in prairie dog so I shoot them quit often.

The video did not mention 30 cents a round.

Answer to the million dollar question-who will be first to make the rifle? Answer is savage. According to Outdoor Life this month it should be out in mid april w two more major manufacturers following by the end of the year hopefully.

This is a round I don't understand. It had better be affordable . I can buy a centerfire that will do the same thang or excede what the 17 winny can do AND reload it with the 17 hornet.

Soooo much promotional hype on this cartidge.

22 super just got my attention. Provided they can keep the per round price around 22 wsm, and get hornet level ballistics. Pipe dream? Maybe but someone needs to make the suggestion. Just my 2 cents......

Good deal! I would love to see a truely modern rimfire cartridge in 22. A truely worthy project of getting a 250 yard varmitter with a rimfire.
