any of you varmint hunters out there using a 17 fireball. got mine this spring in a 700 sps varmint, this shoots better than I ever excpected right out of the box, no mods. .5" at 100 and 1.5" out to 300yds. no recoil at all and with a 20gr V-max at 4000 it cuts those little ground squirrels almost in half, and you get to see the whole show. I also shoot a 22-250, 222, and a 17hmr but the fireball is the most fun.

Last year I got a Remington 700 CDL SF Limited Ed 17 Fireball rifle w/ a Leupold 6-18 X scope. I adjusted the X Mark Pro trigger puill down to about three pounds and free floated the barrel. I have loaded up some 25 Gr HP Harnady bullets and and am getting 100 yard groups in the .6s inch. I have used it for prairie dog shooting out to about 300 yards. I like the low muzzle blast and recoil of the rifle. The rifles that I have used the most this year for shootin prairie dogs are 17 HMR, 17 Fireball, and 204 Ruger rifles..
