I read the article. Nasty! Need to read! Damn eye opener for the ones who like McD's!

    12 Year-old McDonald’s Burger Shows No Sign of Decay | FriendsEAT.com

1996 McDonalds Hamburger – Best of Mother Earth

    Ingredients:

McDonald’s Beef Patty/French Fries - 1,1,1 – trichloroethane, 1,2,4 – trimethylbenzene, BCH, alpha Chloroform, chlorotoluene, chlorpyritos, DDE, p, p, DDT, p, p, dieldrin, diphenyl 2-wthylhexyl phosphate, and ethyl benzene, among a host of other chemicals found in fast food.

McDonald’s Bun - Enriched bleached flour (bleached wheat flour, malted barley flour, thiamine, riboflavin, niacin, folic acid, reduced iron), water, high fructose corn syrup, partially hydrogenated soybean oil, yeast, contains less than 2 % of each of the following: salt, calcium sulfate, calcium carbonate, calcium silicate, wheat gluten, soy flour, baking soda, emulsifier (mono- and diglycerides, diacetyl tartaric acid esters of fatty acids, ethanol, sorbitol, polysorbate 20, potassium propionate), sodium stearoyl lactylate, dough conditioner (corn starch, ammonium chloride, ammonium sulfate, calcium peroxide, ascorbic acid, azodicarbonamide, enzymes), calcium propionate (preservative).

How to create your own Immortal Burger:

    1. Buy some hamburgers from your favorite fast food restaurant: McDonald’s, Wendy’s, Burger King (any place that serves hybridized, chemicalized, genetically altered, hormone/ pesticide-laden food) – BUT DON’T EAT THEM!

    2. Put your hamburgers in a fairly dry location and let them sit for many, many years.

WARNING: Do not put your hamburgers in any sealed containers, like jars. The moisture needs to escape the food naturally, so letting them breathe in the open air works best.

    3. And that’s it! You are now the proud owner of your own Burger Museum! After 6 or 7 days, you can display them proudly. No animals or insects will touch them – which makes me wonder why we would ever touch them!

I really wonder how (and by what authority) he decide what should be removed and what should be allowed.

Have you never seen "Supersize Me?" My son used to love McDonald's until we saw that movie probably five years ago. He hasn't eaten there since )but still eats other fast food, like it's any better).

I haven't been to a McDonalds or other "fast food" burger joint for 20 years. I do get chicken tacos from a local place called "Mighty Taco" once in a while, but that's the extent of my "fast food" eating. Thank goodness.
I suggest watching the film "Food Inc."...It's interesting.

I had a roomie who managed a few tacobells; i learned not to ask how work was. I was not aware that the stuff in the regular tacos & such is not "beef" or "meat"; it is referred to and marked "taco filler".

Subway employees make awesome roomies for those who love broken cookies & their walk-in coolers are awesome on a hot day.

We had Taco Bell on base in Germany, co-worker would never eat at the food court, not just Taco Bell; but, pizza, etc.

The health worker advised him the meat is Grade "F". Just think before sendng that meal back!

That movie was fantastic and a surprisingly good Blueray transfer for some reason.

Watched Food Inc. and Supersize me and I still eat it all like a fat kid on a cupcake. I don't care.

If you think our food comes from some fairy tail land where all animals roam free and live the perfect life and are killed is a nonhurtful way you are more than likely a member of effing PETA.

As long as my family and I don't get sick I don't really care where my steak came from other than a COW.

    Supersize me pissed me off.

The guy went from eating as a Vegan to eating nothing but McDonald's and had 0 portion control, if they offered to supersize he accepted.
Try that experiment at any restaurant and the results would be the same.

Everyone says this, but they are all missing the point.
You see, if I would only eat out of our garden and hunt all of my meat I would be like Popeye on spinach. In other words, I would be very healthy.
They done the exact opposite. They made him eat only fast food. Because it made him unhealthy. It shows that the food that he was eating is unhealthy.

It was told at an extreme to prove a point. You can still eat fast food every once in a while, but it will still be unhealthy. Just as long as it is balanced with good food I do not see the harm except for the fact that it is all has a high calorie count.
I know a family that does not look at it this way. Fast food is what they mainly eat and guess what? They are all very unhealthy. Even the fifteen year old son is really sick. He is already pre-diabetic and is about 80 lbs. over weight. Their skin looks awful, they have no endurance and their stamina is not there. They try to get healthier by walking, but that wont do them any good unless they stop eating fast food!

This is what Supersize Me was trying to tell people.

He should have mentioned more than just McDonalds then. I know he chose them because there was some marketing by them that claimed they had healthy food and at the time they really didn't have any good options. But I challenge you to name a national chain restaurant, Fast food or sit down that if eaten as the only source of food would not cause you to be fat and unhealthy.

Fast food gets a bad wrap. Many people believe that when they go to a sit down restaurant they are getting better stuff, and they might be. But they get so much more of the better stuff that it makes it just as bad for them.

Fast food gets a lot of its bad reputation because it fries everything. Fried food isn't that good for you. I do not know exactly how because I haven't done that much research on it. For right now I am just trusting the word of the nurses in the family.

Anyways, to name a few good restaurants.....
    Olive Garden
    Subway (ish)
    Crackle Barrel
    Texas Roadhouse
(and) I have suspicions of other restaurants but I will not mention them because I honestly don't know. My family just does it the right way. We save money and shoot/grow a lot of our own food and make almost everything from scratch and not go out to eat.

This defending of fast food makes me think about Christmas when all of the family is present and it erupts into an argument between those who eat fast food (the men) and those who don't (the women). (generally speaking)
