Is the Remington 11-87 worth it or for that price should I buy something else. If so what?

For the price you could get a stoeger* P2000 or the P3500. Only difference is the 3500 chambers 3 1/2" and the 2000 only 3"

I would prefer an 11-87 over either of the others mentioned. 3" is as much as I need - I don't shoot steel. They do need an occasional cleaning, but they work quite reliably. Most semi autos today work, and endless debate about aluminum versus steel receivers, gas versus inertia action, etc., are just the opinions of the poster. I don't like any inertia action, but that's just me, you might. Go handle some and get the gun that feels best to you.

I have an 1100 made back when they first came out and it's dream. I've had guys at work offer me 1200 for it. I'll give Remington credit where it's due but not with their newer stuff. Im sure the older 11-87s are fantastic since I've never handled one but the new ones' bolt seems a little more sticky to me. Not bashing yours but that's just with the ones I've held but like you said, go handle some and which ever pull best to your shoulder, get
