I'm just not a fan of the few millimeters short this pack is at accommodating a next level size scope on the receiver. So I have been looking for alternatives . Anyone find an alternative pack option for the takedown they were happy with ?

Try one of the Blackhawk packs, the 3-Day Patrol Pack might work.

In a lot of ways the Ruger case that comes with the TD is very nice, but I have to wonder why given the relatively oversized case, they didn't give any thought to people wanting to scope their rifles? :/

I don't have one yet myself, but someone recommended Skinner Scabbards to me as a replacement for the Ruger case.

Thanks guys . I was looking for more anyone that HAD replaced their TD pack . I guess not many really care.

I mean I have QD rings and all But it would be much more convenient to pack the receiver with scope on .

I'm surprised the aftermarket hasn't propperly addressed this issue and marketed a pack specifically for the 10/22 TD.

Ya think ruger engineers would have thought their customers would actually want something more substantial than a red dot or tiny scope. Just a few millimeters more woulda made the difference .

Just one thing to say. Butler creek folding stock. Some other folding stocks can be made to work. Best mod I ever did.

My full sized Cabelas 3_9x 40 (13.3 inch) fits in the bag on a Leopold one piece mount and med twist in rings. Looks better and the ergonomics are much better with the pistol grip. 28.5 inches long folded with stock barrel. I am looking at having the barrel cut to 16.5" and threaded for silencer eventually. Tax stamp in the works.

I keep mine in a aluminum brief case that I got from harbor freight. Looks better than the soft case and the $14 price tag is great. Also doesn't look like a gun case.

Search it on YouTube for a how to. Mod takes about 30 min and is reversible later. Add a buffer upgrade and a better mag release. The trigger job is worth it when your budget can stretch.

This is a paintball pod i can fit 2 of these pods each holding 1000 rounds so up to 20000 rounds of 22lr in the bigger pocket where the barrel goes but i dont have the ammo right now if you do it right you can have a neat little package

In the outer top pocket i plan on putting either the s&w 617 or the s&w 317 depending on wich one fits :)

I have the SS version as well. I wanted a good bugout small game rifle that would require min maint. and the blued version just didnt seem conducive to this attribute . My pack has

10/22 takdown , Nikon prostaff 150 bdc scope with UTG QR rings , a 10rd stock mag and 2-BX25 s , 1850 rds of various ammo , a .22 bore snake and a small bottle of ballistol .

Its a pretty full pack but theres room for just a bit more stuff but im trying to keep the weight down. I suppose I should've measured for scope but I really wanted the nikon prostaff 3-9x40 for the money its an excellent scope. So far the QR rings seem to be holding zero even de and re attaching . And mods so far are a KiDD padded bolt buffer and I just did the auto bolt release mod. I wish I had known you could buy a drop in part for that mod but whatever I was very careful and took 3 fittings shaving extremely little amount of steel .

Just a heads up . I ended up going with the 5.11 RUSH 72hr pack.

Its a full size backpack but boy does it work for the takedown . Now I can carry my rifle a bit of ammo and i dunno maybe 40 more lbs of stuff. Not that I need to but just knowing I can pack my rifle and a bunch of crap in the same bag really works for me .
