Does a C&R FFL change the buying process for an antique class III weapon?

i.e. Welrod or an original Maxim or even a MP18

Well, yes and no. If it is a NFA firearm, it is not treated as an antique- is still a NFA arm. However, if it is over 50 years old, after doing the paperwork with BATFE, it can be transferred directly to a C&R FFL holder, state laws permitting.
