Sounds like it.

Threatening approach ... violent entry ... forcible violent felony against a person ... Caught, and stopped, in the act of a violent felony. With the degree of force necessary to terminate the threat.

Well done, if as reported.

My only question for the adults in that house is: Why unarmed, while home? It nearly cost her her life, there. Time to re-think the precautions against rapid violent assault upon family members, when moments can be the difference between life and death.

A good lesson, for everyone. They're amazingly fortunate to have had the time to go seeking for sufficient defensive firepower to halt the felon. Had the person been alone, it might well have been "lights out" for her. Or, had he been the one approached and beaten, he'd have had little to no means of halting it, right then and there.

But!...But!....But! the Police are supposed to be there protecting you there's no need for people to own guns as guns kill people and running to your safe place will save you as you rang the Police who are but 5 minutes away when the armed intruder 1st entered your home.

The sooner for those who break and enter find out that hollow points expand on impact the better.
Playing Russian Roulette breaking into a house wondering if old mate or his missus is armed or not would be a good deterrent especially if the amount of corpses start piling up of armed offenders and word starts getting around that it's not a good idea to be a naughty person.
